Meet the Breed

Small in Size. Full of Character.

Miniature Long-Haired Dachshunds are affectionate, intelligent and unmistakably full of personality.

Behind their elegant coat and iconic silhouette is a curious and confident little hound. They form close bonds with their people, love being involved in family life, and bring together the perfect balance of playfulness, affection and independence.

Small enough for modern living — with a personality much bigger than their size.

Dachshunds are known for being loyal, playful and wonderfully expressive.

Originally bred as hunting dogs, they are naturally curious and intelligent, with an independent streak that gives them plenty of character.

They thrive on companionship and respond best to patient, positive and consistent training.

Vaccination

Puppy vaccinations generally begin around 6–8 weeks, with further vaccinations given throughout puppyhood. The final core vaccination in the initial series should be given at 16 weeks or older. Always follow your veterinarian's individual schedule.

Feeding

Young puppies usually begin with several small meals each day on a complete and balanced puppy diet. As they mature, meal frequency gradually reduces.

Keeping a Dachshund lean and appropriately portioned is especially important throughout life.

Grooming

Their beautiful long coat benefits from regular brushing, with particular attention around the ears, chest, legs and tail.

Routine nail, dental and ear care should also begin from puppyhood.

A little dog with a very big presence.

Miniature Long-Haired Dachshunds are at their happiest when they are included in everyday life.

They suit families looking for a small companion with affection, intelligence and plenty of personality — rather than a dog that simply sits quietly in the background.

They may be little, but they have opinions, curiosity and an enormous capacity for love.

Expert Care & Grooming

Our Miniature Long-Haired Dachshunds require a consistent grooming routine to maintain their signature silky coat. We recommend brushing your puppy at least three times a week to prevent matting and keep their coat in pristine condition.

Regular ear cleaning and nail maintenance are essential for their long-term health. We advise using a soft, warm towel for gentle daily cleaning and scheduling professional grooming sessions every six to eight weeks to ensure their comfort and hygiene.
